Hypercasual Game Project
Dec 16, 2022
The game
Haunted Blitz is a school project that I develop with 2 other game designers and 3 artists in a span of 3 weeks. I was in charge of the UX/UI. The project was supposed to be a hypercasual game, but our game was in the end a little bit more casual than what we've been asked. You are playing a little kid in a costume and your goal is to not get spooked by the different obstacles inside the mansion as long as possible and at the same time, collecting candies (soft currencies) to unlock new skins.
My work on the project
As the UX/UI designer, I was in charge of creating all of the menus and HUD and integrating them inside the game using Figma and Unity. I was collaborating with Margot Decoust (UI artist) to bring the menus to life. All and all, that part of the project was the easiest, but I still got to learn some new things about how the UI side of Unity work!
Postmortem
Since the project is now long gone, here is what I would have love to do on the project but didnt have enough time :
Creating a way to make the arrows more visible inside the game ( It is the deadliest trap after all).
Create different versions of the UI and make player test them to see exactly which one is the best.
Better settings ( Only the volume is adjustable).
Better UX (3 weeks is not enough for a good UX).
